Samsung Galaxy S II features Corning® Gorilla® Glass

Corning® Gorilla® Glass have partnered with Samsung to bring their leading cover glass technology to the GALAXY S II. Corning Gorilla Glass is a lightweight environmentally friendly alkali-aluminosilicate thin-sheet glass that specifically functions as a cover glass for high-end display devices such as smartphones, tablets, notebook PCs, and TVs. It has enabled super-slim mobility on the Galaxy S II's high-quality touch display, Super AMOLED Plus.
This specialty glass is highly-damage resistant as demonstrated on many stress-test videos on YouTube, including this Ball-drop test.

The Galaxy S II is currently Samsung's most powerful smartphone and has received rave reviews from some of the leading technology blogs such as Engadget ("The Galaxy S II's screen is nothing short of spectacular") and Techradar (Number 1 in "20 best mobile phones in the world today"), amongst many others. It is a dual-core-smartphone powered by the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) platform and is currently the slimmest smartphone. South Africans can expect it to be available in June/July 2011.
